PHILLIP AND NANCY ANSCHUTZ The Philanthropy Roundtable was pleased to announce Philip and Nancy Anschutz of Denver, Colorado, as the 2009 recipients of the William E. Simon Prize for Philanthropic Leadership.
Inspiration. Pass it on. That’s what Philip and Nancy Anschutz have done through the model of their generous giving to medical centers, cultural institutions, leadership networks, and human-service groups that help people to help themselves. In addition to their work through The Anschutz Foundation, they have created an effort to develop innovative approaches to philanthropy through the Foundation for a Better Life and the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation which promote core moral values and personal responsibility. The prize honors the ideals and principles which guided William E. Simon’s giving, including personal responsibility, resourcefulness, volunteerism, scholarship, individual freedom, faith in God, and helping people to help themselves. Philip and Nancy Anschutz were honored during a special dinner on Thursday, October 1, at the Broadmoor during the 2009 Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. |
