Sandra Swirski
Executive director, Alliance for Charitable Reform and co-founder, Urban Swirski & Associates
Sandra Swirski is executive director of the Alliance for Charitable Reform and co-founder of Urban Swirski & Associates, a public policy and government affairs firm in Washington, D.C. Her practice focuses on advising Fortune 500 executives and leaders of nonprofit organizations about public policy issues. Before founding Urban Swirski, Ms. Swirski was a partner at Venn Strategies, a government and public affairs firm in Washington, D.C. Her prior experience includes heading the public policy and lobbying team for Mobil Corporation, where she helped develop Mobil’s global and domestic policy positions. A tax lawyer, Ms. Swirski was a senior congressional aide for two prominent Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee: Sen. John Danforth (R-Mo.) and Sen. Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.). She was also chief counsel for the Senate Social Security Subcommittee. Tax Analysts named Ms. Swirski one of Washington’s “Top Ten Tax Lobbyists.” She is an active member of her community, serving on the development board of her local hospital, on the corporate board of the Public Leadership Education Network (a women’s leadership organization), and on the finance board of her parish church. Ms. Swirski holds a J.D. from George Washington University and an LL.M. in tax from Georgetown University.
