Carolyn A. Lynch
Co-founder, Lynch Foundation
Carolyn A. Lynch has been the president and CEO of the Lynch Foundation since its founding in 1988. In her position as presiding officer of the Lynch Foundation during the last two decades, Mrs. Lynch has worked with hundreds of organizations both in a funding capacity and an advisory role. In particular, she is an advocate of young charities with innovative perspectives and fresh solutions. Some of the charities she has identified and funded in the initial stages of their development are Teach For America, Partners in Health, First Night, and City Year. She is vice chairman of the board of the New England Historical Genealogical Society and a trustee of the Gregorian University Foundation and the WGBH NOVA Science Visiting Council. Mrs. Lynch has also served on the board of trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, RENEW International, and the Peabody Essex Museum. She has been recognized for her leadership in philanthropy by the United Way, Catholic Charities, and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. Mrs. Lynch is a Dame of Malta and has received the Papal Honor of St. Gregory Award, the highest honor awarded by the Roman Catholic Church to a layperson. She has received three honorary degrees from Assumption College, Boston College, and Emmanuel College for her commitment to philanthropy and education.
