Richard S. Bray
President and CEO, Beazley Foundation
Richard S. Bray is president and CEO of the Beazley Foundation. He was named a trustee of the foundation in 1994. Before becoming president of the foundation in 2002, he was a judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia. Prior to his election to the state court, Judge Bray was elected judge of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. Prior to this, he practiced law in the city of Chesapeake and clerked for Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Lawrence W. l’Anson. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College and a law degree from the College of William and Mary. In 2009, Judge Bray was selected Chesapeake’s First Citizen.
