William A. Schambra
Senior fellow and director, Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal, Hudson Institute
William A. Schambra is a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., where he directs the Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal. Before joining Hudson, Mr. Schambra worked as director of programs at the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation. Mr. Schambra has been a senior advisor and chief speechwriter for Attorney General Edwin Meese III, Office of Personnel Management Director Constance Horner, and Secretary of Health and Human Services Louis Sullivan. He was also director of social policy programs for the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), as well as co-director of AEI’s “A Decade of Study of the Constitution.” Mr. Schambra was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and by President George W. Bush to the board of directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service. He has written extensively on the Constitution, civil society, and the theory and practice of civic revitalization.
