Jump-starting the Charter School Movement: A Guide for Donors
Charter schools--independently operated, typically started by impassioned education entrepreneurs--strike many donors as an ideal way to invest in public education. The charter school movement has had many successes in its first decade of life; but the movement is now at a crossroads, and private funders are even more vital.

This guidebook provides donors of all shapes and sizes with strategic ways to support a strong charter school movement in their communities and across the nation. It draws on the experience of many of the movement's most active funders. It does not offer a simple recipe for all donors to follow but instead provides a menu of possibilities that readers can choose from and adapt, with concrete examples of each approach.
