J. P. De Gance
Chief Operating Officer
J.P. De Gance joined The Philanthropy Roundtable as chief operating officer in February 2013. He is responsible for managing operations, including finance and accounting, development, event planning and logistics, technology, and human resources departments, and will play a leadership role in outreach to emerging philanthropists.
J.P. has worked closely with philanthropists throughout the past decade, helping them strengthen our free society. Most recently, he served as the vice president of external affairs at Americans for Prosperity and Americans for Prosperity Foundation. There he oversaw all fundraising and development efforts of the two organizations and helped to formulate strategies for policy and issue campaigns at the state and national levels. Before joining AFP and AFPF, J.P. worked at Koch Companies Public Sector as a senior member of their special projects team working to develop and execute public policy strategies to protect and advance economic freedom. He’s also served as the director of planned giving at the Leadership Institute and participated as a member of their youth and political training faculty.
J.P. graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
