Micah Sagebiel joined The Philanthropy Roundtable as Senior Director of Programs in April 2021. He oversees the organization’s national programmatic team across all programmatic areas. Before the Roundtable, Micah was a United States Program Director at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation where he led work to grow high-quality K–12 schools in multiple US cities and launched innovative new portfolios of work. His work leveraged the benefits of the free market to improve the lives of children and families living in poverty through both grant and equity investments. While at Dell, he frequently worked in close partnership with philanthropic donors and for-profit, non-profit, and governmental leaders across the country.
In his early career, Micah worked as a public-school teacher via Teach for America in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and helped launch a Texas-based high school reform effort working both at the Communities Foundation of Texas and Texas Education Agency. He has also held fellowships at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center of Public Policy at Dartmouth College and the RGK Center for Non-Profit and Philanthropic Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
Micah holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, a Master of Public Affairs (MPAff) from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Colgate University. He is active on numerous boards of directors both in his hometown of Austin and nationally.
