Cara Dingus Brook
Cara Dingus Brook is president and CEO of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. During her time as president and CEO, the foundation has incubated two needed organizations for the region – the Ohio Appalachian Business Council, a business roundtable advancing Appalachian Ohio’s prosperity; and the Appalachian Partnership for Economic Growth, a 501(c)(3) regional economic development organization working to increase jobs and capital investment in Appalachian Ohio. Before joining the foundation, she was the Southeast Ohio District Representative for United States Senator George V. Voinovich and manager of Appalachian Ohio Giving, a multi-sector partnership promoting philanthropy as a community and economic development tool. She received the Appalachian New Economy Partnership Award for Regional Economic Development from the Voinovich School for Leadership and Public Affairs in 2010 and the Young Alumni “Spirit” Award from Ohio University’s College of Arts and Sciences in 2011. Ms. Dingus Brook earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Ohio University and is a graduate of the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute.
