Jeff Hom

Jeff Hom is general counsel in legal for Omidyar Network. He continues to play a primary role in structuring, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for the firm's for-profit investments and nonprofit grants, with deep experience in emerging market impact investing. Prior to joining Omidyar Network in 2008, Mr. Hom spent six years as an associate at the law firm Morrison & Foerster. Based in Silicon Valley, he advised internet and technology startup companies on venture capital financing, licensing, and other commercial transactions, mergers, and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. On a pro bono basis, he provided legal support to small, local businesses and nonprofits. Mr. Hom was a Fulbright Scholar, studying the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China in 1997, and co-authored the article, "Human Rights in Hong Kong: The First Year in the Transition", published by the American Bar Association. Mr. Hom earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from Stanford Law School.
