Carla Javits is president and CEO of the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund (REDF), a venture philanthropy supporting social enterprises that help people overcome employment barriers. Under her leadership, REDF was awarded two federal Social Innovation Fund grants by the Corporation for National and Community Service. She speaks frequently at domestic and international conferences and speaking engagements, including the Social Enterprise World Forum. Before joining REDF, Ms. Javits was president and CEO of the Corporation for Supportive Housing. She was a program analyst with the California Office of the Legislative Analyst and director of policy and planning for the San Francisco Department of Social Services. Ms. Javits serves on the board of directors of the Melville Charitable Trust and is president of the Marian B. and Jacob K. Javits Foundation. She is involved in a number of board or advisory roles including with Third Sector Capital Partners and Fannie Mae’s Expert Advisory Panel. Ms. Javits earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
