Vanessa Kirsch is founder and CEO of New Profit, a venture philanthropy organization. Prior to founding New Profit in 1998, Ms. Kirsch launched two other social enterprises, Public Allies and the Women's Information Network. She has been published in the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company's Co.Exist, and other publications. Ms. Kirsch has made The NonProfit Times’ “Power and Influence Top 50” list, Boston Magazine’s “Most Powerful Boston Philanthropists,” and Inside Philanthropy’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Philanthropy” list. She received the Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship Award from Duke University’s Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship and Ernst & Young named her “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the category of social entrepreneurship. She is a graduate of Tufts University.
