Erin O’Connor is executive vice president and chief creative officer at the Moving Picture Institute (MPI). Before joining the Moving Picture Institute, she taught English literature at the University of Pennsylvania and spent a year teaching high school. She wrote the screenplay for Miss Virginia, MPI's feature-length film telling the true story of Virginia Walden Ford's fight to secure educational opportunity for the children of Washington, D.C. Starring Emmy-winner Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), the film premieres in theaters and on video-on-demand on October 18. Ms. O’Connor produced and executive produced a number of independent films that have screened nationwide, earned critical acclaim, and premiered at prestigious festivals. Her credits include Mama Rwanda, Incarcerating Us, the Webby Award-winning We the Internet TV, and Miss Virginia. Ms. O’Connor earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
