Marcus Ruzek is a senior program director for The Marcus Foundation. Captain Ruzek is a combat veteran having served as an Army Special Forces Officer (Green Beret). Capt. Ruzek served in the Army for 13 years. He has worked at The Marcus Foundation for over five years directing all Military and Veterans programs. While assigned as an Infantry Officer in 2009, Capt. Ruzek deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He later attended a rigorous two-year training pipeline at Ft Bragg, NC to serve in the 1st Special Forces Regiment. He graduated a Green Beret in December 2013. Capt. Ruzek deployed to northern Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in 2015. He commanded a Special Forces “A Team” which partnered with Kurdish Peshmerga in the fight against Islamic State terrorists (ISIS). Among Captain Ruzek’s awards and decorations are three Bronze Star Medals, one for valorous actions on the battlefield, and two for meritorious service in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
