Rebecca Taber Staehelin

Rebecca Taber Staehelin is founder and CEO of Merit America, a new nonprofit preparing low-wage workers for skilled careers at scale. Ms. Taber Staehelin has spent the past decade focusing on education-for-employment across the public, private, and social sectors. Prior to founding Merit America in 2017, she built and led Coursera’s Government and Nonprofit team, overseeing dozens of partnerships reaching tens of thousands of learners. Previously, Ms. Taber Staehelin was education advisor to Governor Markell (Delaware), chief performance officer at the Delaware Department of Education, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Ms. Taber Staehelin earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and master’s degrees from Stanford University.
