David Voorman is the vice president of policy and government affairs at Philanthropy Roundtable. Before joining the Roundtable, David was vice president at Food Solutions Action, where he led federal lobbying outreach, developed policy recommendations and worked with policymakers, stakeholders and coalition partners on federal legislative and regulatory issues.
David brings experience in policy development, legislative strategy, coalition building and direct advocacy before federal and state policymakers. His work has focused on translating complex issues into clear arguments for lawmakers, staff, grassroots advocates and public audiences, with a particular emphasis on protecting free speech, free association and civil society.
David previously served as a senior policy analyst at Americans for Prosperity and worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, serving in various roles including legislative assistant and legislative counsel. Earlier in his career, David practiced civil litigation in Nebraska and worked in the White House Office of Records Management under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in history and communications from Concordia University Nebraska and his J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
