Your Gateway to ImpactMental Health Playbook
The Mental Health Playbook connects foundations and individual donors with high-impact organizations addressing the most urgent mental health needs across America.
What is the Mental Health Playbook?
The organizations featured in this playbook embrace the Roundtable’s core values of liberty, opportunity and personal responsibility and bring those values to bear in the crucial area of mental health.
Treating people with mental health challenges with dignity, respect and quality holistic care is essential to empowering them to reach their full potential through fulfilling their individual responsibilities and pursuing opportunity. Data incontrovertibly shows a lack of quality mental health resources contributes to higher rates of homelessness, hunger, substance abuse, lower education outcomes, domestic violence and other societal issues.
With greater access to preventive approaches and higher quality care, we believe more people will attain overall well-being which will improve their lives and increase their contribution to society.
As Jonathan Haidt put it so perfectly, “An ounce of prevention is worth hundreds of pounds of cure.”
By investing in holistic, highly effective organizations, philanthropists can improve mental health in America by supporting preventive interventions, access to quality care and common-sense solutions to propel healthier individuals, families and communities.
Designed to be a living resource, the playbook will be refreshed on a routine basis, providing philanthropists with timely and innovative ideas for investment and partnership. Organizations are selected after close examination of mission alignment, impact, fiscal health and potential for replicability.
