Maria Copeland is the grant writer for Philanthropy Roundtable. Prior to joining the Roundtable’s Development team, Maria served for three years on the faculty of a classical private school in Centreville, Virginia, where she taught upper-level courses in composition, literature and rhetoric.
Maria was a 2025-2026 Woodhouse Fellow at The Fund for American Studies. A former journalist, she previously interned at the Leadership Institute and has edited for The Dallas Express and The Marginalia Review of Books, with a focus on content production for MRB’s Institute for the Meanings of Science. Originally from Northern Virginia, Maria received a Bachelor of Arts in media arts and design with a journalism concentration from James Madison University, where she was a Dingledine-Bluestone Scholar.
